Lead Occupational Hygiene Projects and Mentor the Next Generation
Are you an experienced Occupational Hygienist ready to take the next step in your career?
GCG is growing our Brisbane team, and we’re looking for a Senior Occupational Hygiene Consultant who wants to apply their technical expertise while helping shape the development of early-career hygienists.
In this role, you’ll work across complex exposure assessments, major industry projects, and strategic advisory work, while mentoring junior team members and strengthening GCG’s presence across Queensland.

Our national team includes 14 Certified Occupational Hygienists, providing deep technical expertise and strong collaboration across offices.

The Role
Based in Brisbane, you will play a key role delivering occupational hygiene services across Queensland.
Your work will combine technical project delivery, client advisory, and mentoring, giving you the opportunity to shape both projects and people.
You will:
- Lead occupational hygiene monitoring programs and exposure assessments
- Deliver high-quality technical reports and recommendations
- Provide expert advice on exposure control strategies and regulatory requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across multiple industries
- Support and mentor early-career hygienists and consultants
- Collaborate with Certified Occupational Hygienists across the national team
- Contribute to project planning, proposals, and technical initiatives
- Travel to client sites across Queensland as required
This role offers strong technical autonomy, while still being supported by a highly experienced national hygiene team.
About You
You are an experienced hygienist who enjoys combining technical work, client engagement, and mentoring others.
You bring:
- Several years of experience in occupational hygiene or exposure science
- Strong knowledge of exposure monitoring and occupational hygiene principles
- Confidence producing technical reports and communicating complex findings
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
- A collaborative mindset and interest in developing junior team members
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Highly Valued (But Not Essential)
- Full Membership with AIOH
- Experience working across mining, construction, or industrial environments
- Experience leading projects or mentoring team members
- Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH) or progression toward
